Your Plan or a System-- So Paul, where's the calf?

Dear Sunrider Business Leader,

One more visit to the ranch to discuss your plan. As you will recall the last email I regaled you with my great success of getting three obstinate cows up out of the canyon and over the hill. So as I rode up to my friend Cliff, the rancher, with these cows ... thinking what a great job I'd done ... he asked, "So Paul, where's their calves?" (Hence, bringing enlightenment as to why the cows were so obstinate ...)

"Ahhhh ... I didn't see any." What I didn't say is that I also didn't look.

"Well, we'll have to let them go back and pick up their calves."

So the net result of my valiant effort was that at some later date, Cliff was going to have to go back and pick up those cows ... and my efforts were largely ... wasted. Cliff explained to me that there is a system to gathering cows and it wasn't all finding and wild riding. It is rather methodical and you pretty much have to do each step or you end up doing it all over again. First you find the cows, then you determine whether they are still pregnant or have dropped their calves. If they have dropped their calves, then you have to find the calves before moving the cows. Once you have found cow and calf ... then you move them. Well, I'd found the cows and moved them and it looked like I'd gotten a lot of work done, but in fact, I skipped some critical steps and someone was going to have to go back and do it again.

Building Sunrider is exactly like this. You can ride in at a gallop, round up all the people and hustle them over the hill, but if you don't follow the system ... you will end up losing the people, sending them back, or doing all the work again ... or all of the above. So what is the system?

Principles of the System

  • Everyone must have a Purpose and a Plan.
  • People are more important to your success than the products or the plan.
  • Motivate people with their needs.
  • Help each person believe they can succeed. Tell them!
  • Edify ... edify ... edify.
  • Relentlessly repeat every step of the system every day.
  • Commit to do the system 100%. Don't question yourself daily on will I or won't I. Just do it!

Steps of the System

  1. Listen for needs, wants, or dreams.
  2. Share Sunrider with other people (approach).
  3. Present in detail the Plan and Sunrider (presentation).
  4. Hold a follow up meeting.
    1. Help them develop a passion for their purpose. (Based on their need.)
    2. Set goals and develop a plan. (What income would they like to achieve?)
  5. Introduce them to their mentor.
  6. Plug into the system:
    •  Jensen Leadership Group's Email training program
    • Jensen Leadership Group's Email product training program
    • Weekly Conference Calls
    • Weekly presentations
    • Attend all events, local, regional, and annual convention
  7. Help your organization do steps #1-7.

There is a spirit of growth throughout our entire organization. Commit to getting involved in this growth and do it in such a way that it will secure that residual income and lifestyle you desire ... remember to look for the calves!

Sincerely,

Paul Jensen
