One more visit to the ranch to discuss your plan. As you will recall the last email I regaled you with my great success of getting three obstinate cows up out of the canyon and over the hill. So as I rode up to my friend Cliff, the rancher, with these cows ... thinking what a great job I'd done ... he asked, "So Paul, where's their calves?" (Hence, bringing enlightenment as to why the cows were so obstinate ...) "Ahhhh ... I didn't see
any." What I didn't say is that I also didn't look. So the net result of my valiant
effort was that at some later date, Cliff was going to have to go
back and pick up those cows ... and my efforts were largely ... wasted.
Cliff explained to me that there is a system to gathering cows and it
wasn't all finding and wild riding. It is rather methodical and you
pretty much have to do each step or you end up doing it all over again.
First you find the cows, then you determine whether they are still pregnant
or have dropped their calves. If they have dropped their calves, then
you have to find the calves before moving the cows. Once you have found
cow and calf ... then you move them. Well, I'd found the cows and
moved them and it looked like I'd gotten a lot of work done, but in
fact, I skipped some critical steps and someone was going to have
to go back and do it again.
Steps of the System
There is a spirit of growth throughout
our entire organization. Commit to getting involved in this growth and
do it in such a way that it will secure that residual income and lifestyle
you desire ... remember to look for the calves! Paul Jensen
