Attitude: After five surgeries ...
I feel like a piñata!

[Again, this email was written after my horse accident.]

Dear Sunrider Business Leader,

My wife, Cheryl, walked into my room the other day and asked, "Paul, have you ever gotten discouraged during this whole experience with the horse accident?" After giving it some thought I told her that, no, I had not felt discouraged. However, here is what I have felt ...

  • Some impatience at having to be restricted in my activity.
  • A lot of pain, although I have to say it has been less than I anticipated.
  • A lot of gratitude. This may sound odd, but here is a quick summary.
    • First, gratitude that my son was there to roll the horse off me and save my life.
    • Second, the surgeon confessed to me last week that when someone breaks their back like me, it is rare that they ever walk again. To me it is amazing that I have had an incredibly bad accident, and yet, it happened in the best way with the fewest negative results.
    • Third, speaking of surgeons, I'm profoundly grateful that my surgeon, Dr. Bacon, had gone to Texas and received specialized training that allowed him to repair my back and leg ... and that he was available to do it.
    • And fourth, I am really grateful for the medical support I received from many nurses, physician assistants, and doctors that made my stay in the hospital as pleasant as possible.

I told Cheryl that the reason I have not felt discouraged is that experience has proven to me that every major set back in life like this has always brought something better. I am anxious to see what that will be!

Attitude is Everything

What I do know is that your attitude is everything in building your Sunrider business. I have witnessed a remarkable attitude change take place among many distributors during this year.

Now that we have this momentum going we need to look at the rest of our business and make sure our attitude is correct. Here are some true/false statements you can ask yourself to gauge where your attitude is.

  • There are many people who I will meet today who need and want Sunrider's products and financial opportunity.
  • I attract wonderful people into my life.
  • Sunrider is the best company to build a network with.
  • I can and will build a large Sunrider network.
  • I really enjoy working with my upline and downline in Sunrider.

If you find yourself saying false to any of these statements, then your beliefs and attitude needs some adjustment. These statements are all true. We believe it, we are acting on it! This becomes more evident as SV and sponsoring increases. Let this work for building your own business.

Sincerely,

Paul Jensen

Today's Action

If you answered false to any of the statements above, explore why you think they are false. Talk to your upline mentors about it. Get their opinion. Call me and talk ... do whatever it takes to clear up whatever personal or other issues that can be keeping your attitude from being correct. Post these statements where you can review them every day until you know, like me, that these are true!
